Yes, Watsu has therapeutic benefits for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities, aiding in various aspects of well-being. Our therapists are experienced in working with diverse populations, and we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

No, it’s not mandatory to go underwater during a Watsu session. However, you have the option to experience another realm, especially with modalities like Water Dance, which involves submersion. Discuss your comfort level with your Watsu therapist to ensure a personalized and enjoyable session.

Watsu is performed in warm water, allowing for a weightless and buoyant experience. The therapist supports and gently moves the recipient through the water, facilitating a unique sense of relaxation and freedom of movement.

During Watsu please bring a swimsuits.

Watsu sessions are between 60/90/120 minutes. The duration includes dressing, welcoming ceremony/intake, and closing.

Watsu Therapy can be adapted for children, offering a gentle and calming experience.

If you have a pool at home, please contact us to discuss the feasibility of conducting a Watsu session in your pool.

We’ll assess the location for suitability and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Travel rates will apply.

LAND & WATER After Care

Hydration: Drink plenty of water post-session.

Rest: Rest and avoid strenuous activities.

Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Prevent dehydration by avoiding these.

Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothes.

Mindfulness: Practice deep breathing or meditation.

Ear Care: Use 1 part rubbing alcohol and 1 part vinegar for ear issues.

Soreness: Mild soreness is normal as your body adjusts and heals.

Emotional Aftercare:

Expect Emotions: Deep-rooted emotions may surface.

Preparation: Consider meeting with a therapist, journaling, or other reflective practices to process these emotions.

Watsu Therapy is a unique form of aquatic bodywork that combines elements of shiatsu massage and water therapy. It takes place in a warm pool, and the recipient is gently floated, stretched, and massaged in the water.

Watsu Therapy offers numerous benefits, including deep relaxation, stress relief, improved flexibility, enhanced circulation, and a sense of mental and emotional well-being. It can be particularly beneficial for those with chronic pain or mobility issues.

No swimming skills are required for Watsu and you will be supported throughout the entire experience.

At Tribe All Therapies, we specialize in supporting individuals with nonverbal autism and physical disabilities. We are dedicated to finding the right adaptations or venue to meet your needs. Since Watsu therapy takes place in private pools, accessibility may vary, so please reach out before booking to discuss any specific needs.

While Watsu therapy offer many benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone. Please consider the following contraindications:

Watsu (Aquatic Therapy):

  1. Open wounds or skin infections – These pose a risk of infection and may contaminate the water.
  2. Infectious diseases – Individuals with active infections should avoid aquatic therapy for safety reasons.
  3. Uncontrolled epilepsy – The risk of seizures in water can be dangerous.
  4. Severe cardiovascular conditions – Watsu might not be suitable for those with unstable heart conditions due to the immersive environment.
  5. Severe respiratory issues – Difficulty breathing or conditions like advanced COPD may limit participation.
  6. Fever or acute illness – Watsu is most beneficial when participants are in good health.
  7. Severe hypotension – Low blood pressure may be exacerbated by the warm water.
  8. Untreated incontinence – Individuals with incontinence are welcome if they wear appropriate protective swimwear.

Yes, we welcome women after their first trimester. Please contact a medical professional or Doula to make sure Watsu is a good fit for you.

Please inform your Watsu therapist about your pregnancy so that they can tailor the session to accommodate your specific needs.

Watsu sessions are available in 1:1, for two people, or for families. For 1:1 sessions, there may be another guest present, but you can request a fully private experience as an add-on. Sessions for two or for families are always fully private. All sessions take place in a private pool heated between 92–98 degrees, ensuring a relaxing and intimate experience.

The therapist will confirm the venue and share the location after booking.

No, we only accept the CLASS waiver in Texas.

Yes, we are licensed providers. We hold both licenses and certifications in our respective disciplines, along with extensive continuing education (CEUs). Additionally, we are certified in First Aid and Lifeguarding to ensure a safe and professional experience.
